I took a spin through the stacks of mushroom logs this afternoon and there were so many baby mushrooms!

Baby polar white oysters

Baby Nameko

Baby Shiitake!
With the temperatures crashing down into the 20s and 30s overnight, these mushrooms will mature v e r y slowly and it’s possible many of them will just freeze on the logs…but we’ll see. Maybe we’ll have enough warm days for them to get big enough! We’re still carrying on with force-fruiting mushrooms in the high tunnel, but this might finally be the last week. Pretty soon we’ll be thinking about logging and inoculating for next year!
